AUKIO

2001
In situ installation with light-sticks outside at night.

AUKIO 1 was realized with 100 white light-sticks taped on the trunks
of a bamboo forest in Japan in december 2001.

People were invited to take a walk into the dark forest, being slowly attracted by the white spots until they reached the bamboo forest

The luminescence of light-sticks last about 8 hours but it may last
several days if the temperature stays around zero degree Celsius.
Making the artificiality of a landscape come out and taking the
watcher to experience an environment which recalls stories.
